The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has restored the image of the Virgen del Rosario de la Aurora eighteenth century, by Francisco Salzillo, belonging to the Church of Santa Maria la Real de Aledo.
This size will come in procession Sunday morning at 11:00 hours, on his return to town after its restoration.
The procession will be held from the Plaza de la Diputación to the Church of Santa María la Real.
The intervention consisted of the analysis and sense of color, mechanical and chemical cleaning of the room, arranging ungluing, the coating gap and chromatic reintegration and final protection.
The restoration has taken a lead time of seven months and a cost of 16,000 euros.
It is a polychrome wood carving stuff of a group of the Virgin and Child on a pedestal of clouds which are inserted, in addition, several heads of cherubs, vers 1755.
Follow the iconography of the Virgin of Rosario and Aurora seated, dressed in pink gown and blue mantle, while a striped cloth covering part of his head and is available as a band on the chest.
In her arms open their attributes can be seen: on one hand the rosary, which carries in his left hand while his right holds the Child, standing on the globe in an attitude of blessing.
The play had a poor condition, with filth and numerous previous repainting.
The main structure revealed several cracks and ungluing.
The polychrome wear and different losses had both color and support.
The piece looked serious blows that showed the eye of an angel completely sunk in the cloud, and other minor scattered throughout the work.
