The City of Aledo received yesterday the plenary formation of the Commonwealth Tourism Espuña they belong to the municipalities of Aledo, Alhama de Murcia, Mula, Pliego and Totana.
In he took up his post four representatives from each of the municipalities with mayors joint head.
The first mayor to chair the Commonwealth will be Juan José Andreo, first mayor of Aledo;
mienmtras Diego Conesa, mayor of Alhama de Murcia occupy the vice presidency.
Totana Town Council representatives on the joint tourist board are the mayor, Juan José Canovas, and the Councillor for Tourism, Agustín G. Martinez, as ex officio members;
and Getrudis Maria Ruiz and Isabel Maria Sanchez, as members.
This association of municipalities, created in 2001, is challenged in this legislature to contribute, together with the Regional Park, to the completion of an action plan that the territory promised to run when he was credited with certification European Charter for Sustainable Tourism last year 2012.
And next year will have to pass a European assessment to renew this certification and preparing the new action plan to be implemented between 2017 and 2021.
In a few years of limited resources and where the crisis and Streamlining Act and sustainability of local government threatened the disappearance of institutions of similar nature, in Espuña it has been strengthened thanks to its involvement in collaborative projects between Regional Park and tourism businesses in the region.
Commonwealth join the efforts of the members to remain one of the tourist destinations in the interior of Murcia most emblematic and active municipalities.
Joint Projects
A global tourism project which will make available five urban routes accessible in all the municipalities and the other in the heart of the park will be the flagship project of the Federation for the coming months.
Furthermore, this action is accompanied by training and awareness actions tourism entrepreneurs, local people, and even the technical staff of the departments of urban planning of the municipalities.
The five municipalities and the Regional Park of Sierra Espuña also aim to create a target mark to certify local tourist-oriented products and services.
This project will also become the first county in the region to get a brand like this.
