The Sunday morning of June 9 the medieval village of Aledo became a scene of celebration party solidarity and sport.
Mountain lovers enjoyed the celebration of the first edition of the Mountain Race "Aledo-Sierra Espuna".

Along the 24 km race in top athletes competing in the region, were also held two gears walkers, ages 4 and 12 km and run for different age children.
The event was organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer - Aledo Local Board in cooperation with the Athletic Club and Club Hikers Totana Totana and the collection was full to the AECC in order to support the fight against cancer.
Despite being the first edition of the celebration of this event, has had a great response and support from the start, in less than two weeks after registration opens all seats were completed.
So, from seven o'clock Square Aledo Provincial Council was filled with athletes willing to enjoy the beautiful journey that would take them through spectacular landscapes of Espuña Regional Park.
The starting signal was given at 9:00, and the 300 runners who were waiting in the square began racing.
After they were followed by more than 200 walkers who took part in both gears.
The race was dominated from start to finish by the Athletics Club Mandarache Cartagena Castellar Raul Guevara, who completed the circuit with a spectacular lap of 1h: 48:05.
It was followed a minute later the Master Roller Club Athlete of the Union, Benjamin Gutierrez Cervantes.
While the third drawer of the podium was occupied by the athlete totanero Federico García Lorca, with a time of 1:54:54.
As for the women, also met forecasts the winner being the athlete Mandarache Club Cartagena, Esther Sánchez Pérez, with a time of 2:21:20.
It was followed Evangelist Carmen Zamora of Cex Cartagena, with a time of 2:24:57 and in third place the BDM club athlete Anton Extrem Alicia Moreno, with 2:28:05.
