IU-Greens has reported today that the General Municipal Management Plan (PGMO) of Aledo plans to build about 15,568 homes for 45,000 people in the next 30 years, which means an annual increase of 500 homes and 1,500 residents in a municipality that currently has 1053 inhabitants.
The Head of Policy Planning and Infrastructure IU-Greens in the Region of Murcia, José Manuel López Albaladejo, stated in a press conference that that plan is "a real blunder" because it "raises many questions, it is impossible to perform and includes unrealistic large amount of data and serious mistakes. "
Albaladejo Lopez has pointed out that urban development PGMO includes the area where now stands around 2,000 hectares of grapes, one of the main engines of the economy of the town, and move the location thereof to the area east, which borders Totana.
He explained that, under the Plan, they will build in the next 30 years some 15,568 homes, 1,700 of them in the town, making an average of 56 units per year, "far from the needs of the municipality," as in 2008 and 2010 were built three houses, and in 2009 only one.
In this regard, as an example the development of head of Mill, in the same municipality, which included the construction of nearly 4,000 homes and whose works were halted as a result of the economic crisis.
"The council has to adjust this plan to suit the characteristics of Aledo, and finally are the inhabitants who, by their binding consultation, define their development," he concluded.
