The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways has awarded the contract for upgrading the RM-C21 road, which connects the cities of Lorca and Aledo.
The work, which has a budget of 1,479,685 euros, will increase road safety, reduce the risk of accidents and improve communications in the area.
The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, explained that this work "will increase security in a way in which recorded 360,000 movements a year, and provide a more agile and fluid traffic on this route that connects the districts of Upper and Lower Guadalentín ".
The performance will take place along a stretch of 3.5 kilometers of this road between the road Aledo RM-C9, which in turn refers to the town lorquino with Bullas.
Among the works are carried out design of the intersection of that road.
Also take place on asphalt road and the extension of the pavement, where he will spend six to ten meters wide.
In addition, curve radii extend and expand the drainage system, using frames and concrete pipes that will evacuate the water from various channels located along the path.
The layout of the intersection will be done through the construction of acceleration lanes and waiting, plus the addition of islands for traffic management, elements that will provide the connection point between both forms of optimal security conditions.
Jose Guijarro said that "this work will significantly improve communications in the area and help reduce road accidents, in the last year in the High Guadalentín County, has been reduced by 46 percent, which reflects the interest regional government to increase security at more than 3,000 route miles of regional ownership. "
